Lindenhurst HS Students Go Bald for Good Cause

Students and staff opt for buzz cuts to help raise money for Saint Baldrick's Foundation.

It's said that bald is beautiful. So is shaving your head - especially if it's for a good cause. And students and faculty at recently demonstrated that premise with good reason: to help the fight against children's cancer.

Earlier this month 117 LHS students and staff shaved off their hair to raise more than $2,000 for the Saint Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

Those students and staff who opted for a shorn or bald look on December 1 included both boys and girls, and even Principal Dan Giordano got his hair buzzed to help the cause.
