Lindenhurst HS Takes Over Disney World
Peer Leadership class learns about career opportunities in the happiest place in the world.

Lindenhurst High School’s Peer Leadership class participated in Disney’s Youth Education Series (YES) program in Orlando, FL.
The program blended education and learning with the magic of Disney. The trip included visits to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT and Universal Studios.
The students took a class focusing on various career opportunities at Disney, most of which go beyond operating a ride. There are various employment availabilities at Animal Kingdom alone, including veterinarians and animal trainers.
Students especially enjoyed the backstage areas and seeing what the public doesn’t often see. The Peer Leaders were given examples of how their respective job pursuits could fit into helping out at Disney.
“The trip taught valuable lessons in time management, listening and navigation skills and gave a hint of what college life might be like,” said advisor Rick Caravaggio. “Students also passed on the lessons learned to students in Lindenhurst elementary schools.”
