LINDENHURST, NY — Not everyone has a day named in their honor, but that's precisely what just happened to a Lindenhurst Eagle Scout during a recent Court of Honor Ceremony.

Lindenhurst Mayor Michael Lavorata declared April 17, 2024, Steven Castiglione Day in the Village of Lindenhurst to honor Castiglione and his "outstanding achievement as an Eagle Scout," a village rep said.

“I am so proud of Steven’s accomplishment of becoming an Eagle Scout. Achieving the distinction of Eagle Scout is no small feat, as it is the highest attainable rank in the Boy Scouts of America," said Mayor Lavorata. "It represents the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and commitment to the principles of scouting.”
