Lindenhurst Students Explore Historical Boston

High School's History and Italian Clubs tour the birthplace of the American Revolutionary War.

The Lindenhurst High School History Club, under the leadership of advisor Richard Finder, and the Italian Club, under the leadership of advisor John Rossillo, travelled to Boston for a two-day excursion.

Thirty-seven students and six chaperones enjoyed two sun-filled days touring Boston.

The Boston tour began with a trip to the USS Constitution, the famous undefeated battleship. The next stop was Bunker Hill, where students were given a brief lesson and then climbed the almost 300 steps in the monument. Students enjoyed a delicious lunch in Boston’s famous Little Italy in the North End. The trip also included a visit to the 300-year-old Old North Church where Paul Revere signaled the Lanterns.

The final stop was a tour of the Old State House, the home of the Boston Massacre.  Lindenhurst students also enjoyed watching a baseball game at Boston’s Fenway Park.

“The trip was educational and the students had an amazing time,” said Mr. Rossillo.
