Lindenhurst Woman Honored by Farmingdale State College

RoseAnn Byron is one of 15 members of the campus community recognized for 25 years of service.

Lindenhurst resident RoseAnn Byron was recently recognized for her 25 years of service to .

Byron, an accounts payable manager, was one of 15 employees who were honored at the college’s annual retirement and service recognition luncheon. Faculty, staff and friends honored both retirees and those celebrating their 25th anniversary as employees.

They also recognized all they do for the college and the community. In Byron’s case she’s an avid sports fan who supports the athletic teams at Farmingdale by attending many games throughout the year, according to the release about the event.

“The dedication of our employees, who clearly love what they do, is a great strength and asset for Farmingdale,” Farmingdale State College President W. Hubert Keen said. “I thank each of these long-term employees for contributing to our students’ education.”

The other employees from across Long Island who celebrated 25 years included Malka Edelman, Long Beach, director of the career development center; Susan O’Donnell Farag, Smithtown, assistant director of human resources; Veronica Henry, Amityville, executive assistant to the president; Ahmed Ibrahim, Huntington Station, professor of mechanical engineering technology; Kathleen Jacquette, Farmingdale, professor of English and humanities; Audrey Krapf, Sayville, director of the health and wellness center; Diane Melamed, Babylon, director of student accounts; Deborah Ann Nilsen, Bohemia, assistant director of admissions; Mark Orlich, Bay Shore, assistant director of the physical plant; Laurie Rozakis, Farmingdale, professor of English; Gary Rupp, Babylon, professor of business management; Elizabeth Sullivan, Centerport, professor of English; Richard Turk, Centerport, grounds department of physical plant; and Patricia Ward, Farmingdale resident, assistant professor of English and reading at the EOC.
