Lindenhurst's VFW Post 7279 Reopens After 2019 Fire

The Lindenhurst community gathered to celebrate the grand reopening of Veterans of Foreign War Post 7279 after a fire destroyed it in 2019.

LINDENHURST, NY — After a 2019 fire destroyed Lindenhurst's Veterans of Foreign War Post 7279, the beloved hall is now open again to serve its community.

The VFW recently celebrated it's reopening with a ribbon cutting ceremony organized by the Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber members, state and local officials, Post Commander Tom Kelly and other VFW officers came together to honor the hall and officially reopen its doors to community members.

According to village officials, local craftsmen, laborers and other community members came together to rebuild the hall, which is now open for use by the VFW members, scout troops, community groups and for private events.

The VFW is located at 560 North Delaware Avenue in Lindenhurst.
