Man Seriously Injured In Copiague Scooter Crash: Police

The crash took place on Oak Street near the Long Island Railroad Station in Copiague, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY — A Long Island man was seriously injured in a scooter crash in Copiague on Saturday, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

Rudi Rodriguez-Luna, 20, of Copiague, was riding a gas-powered scooter eastbound on Oak Street near the Long Island Railroad Station when he crashed into a cement pillar at 5 p.m., police said.

Rodriguez-Luna was taken via ambulance to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious physical injuries, police said.
