The start of a new week and new month is here, and we’re finally getting a long-awaited warm-up!

There are also a number of events happening today and this week that should pique your interest.

1. ’s PTA will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m.

2. There are a few happening today. The Varsity Girls Track team will take on Sachem North at home , while Varsity Boys Track will be at Sachem North at the . The Lindenhurst Varsity Girls Softball team will take on Brentwood at home The Varsity and Badminton teams will take on Patchogue-Medford at home at 4 p.m. The Varsity Boys Tennis team will be away at Babylon

3. The last Creative Writing Workshop in the month-long series at the will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Also of note, the 7 p.m. Yogalates class at the LML is canceled.

4. Interested in organic gardening? There’s a class tonight via the Town of Babylon in nearby Copiague, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Details are on the town’s website.

5. An opportunity to pay it forward big time is available at Good Samaritan Hospital in nearby West Islip today from 6 a.m.-9 p.m.: Bone Marrow Screening. Get the details .
