Police ID Victim Hit by Car Driven by Lindy Teen

Karissa Uettwiller, 26, of Lindenhurst, remains hospitalized in serious condition at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Suffolk County Police have identified the woman seriously injured by a car driven by a Lindy teen on Route 109 on Friday night as Karissa Uettwiller, 26, also of Lindenhurst.

Uettwiller was struck by a vehicle driven by Don Gorham, 19, of Lindenhurst, while crossing .

Uettwiller remains hospitalized at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, said police.

According to the SCPD, Gorham was driving a 2000 BMW sedan eastbound on Route 109 near Straight Path when the car hit Uettwiller as she attempted to cross the busy road at approximately 10:20 p.m.

Uettwiller was admitted to Good Samaritan in serious condition, Suffolk Police said.

Gorham, the SCPD said, was not injured.

Police have impounded the car for a safety check, and the investigation is continuing.
