School District: LMS Pen Knife Incident an Accident
School officials said one student was treated for minor injuries, but no violent act took place.
A report of a possible stabbing at last week turned out to be an accident with one minor injury to a student, according to officials.
In a statement released to Lindenhurst Patch, school officials said a student had a small pen knife and accidentally cut the hand of a friend. Medical attention was given to the student injured.
School officials said there was no violence involved and police were not called to the scene.

Officials said the matter and any subsequent disciplinary action to the student for bringing the knife to school would be handled by middle school administrators.
District officials added that students are strongly discouraged from bringing knives into school. "The safety and well-being of the students is the district’s top priority,” they said.
