SCPD: Lindenhurst Man Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Crash

Police say rider was not wearing a helmet when incident took place Thursday morning.

A Lindenhurst man was ejected from his motorcycle Wednesday morning and hit his head on the curb after losing control at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Chestnut Street, according to Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives.

Christopher Larusso, 31, was riding a 1998 Yamaha motorcycle south on Chestnut Street, police said, when he apparently lost control while making a left turn on eastbound Montauk Highway at 9:07 a.m.

Police said Larusso was not wearing a helmet when was ejected from the bike and struck his head on the curb.

He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, according to the SCPD, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

SCPD First Squad detectives impounded the motorcycle for a safety check, and they continue to investigate the crash.
