Shore Road Park Restoration Process Begins
Village looks to restore the former home to Camp Bulldog in the months after Sandy.

Shore Road Park, the home to the post-Sandy relief group Camp Bulldog in the months following the storm, is entering the opening phases of restoration process by the Village of Lindenhurst.
According to Newsday, the bay-side park was damaged throughout Sandy, with a severely eroded beach. The village is aiming to restore the beachfront by ridding the area of concerete, asphalt, metals and plastics.
The project, currently named the Shore Road Park Waterfront Habitat Restoration Project, will have a mission of restoring the beachfront to control future erosion due hurricanes and nor'easters and restore the area's tidal wetlands.
Village clerk-treasurer Shawn Cullinane told Newsday that village officials had discussed the plan before last October and wanted to created a barrier for future storms like Sandy.
The location was home to Camp Bulldog from November 2012 until April 2013. Volunteers and residents helped share supplies, clothing and meals during the recovery in the aftermath of the superstorm on the beachfront park.
