This Weekend in Lindenhurst: June 4-5

Events include a drive-in movie at the beach, a parade and drill, a duck race and a family fun day at town hall.

Here’s what’s on tap:

1. The Town of Babylon kicks off its tonight with at Overlook Beach, one of the . It starts at 8:30 p.m. Friday night, and $10.00 per carload goes to the 9/11 memorial.

2. The ’s annual will take place Saturday. It starts promptly at Wellwood and Liberty Avenues, according to the and the LFD. It’ll head north on Wellwood to Hartford, then down Hartford into Fireman’s Park near the pavilion. More than 50 fire departments from around Long Island including the LFD Snails Racing Team will compete in the drill that’ll start a half hour after the parade ends. The drill includes such team events three-man ladder, buckets and buckets. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids 12 and younger, and refreshments are available.

3. On Sunday the LFD Junior Fire Drill will take place at the same place, sans parade, at noon.

4. On Saturday at 9 a.m. Zackary Harrell will hold his Eagle Scout project at . He’ll be building a memorial reading garden for Mrs. Squires, and also be building gardens for the kindergarten class.

5. Town of Babylon’s annual is set for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at on East Sunrise Highway.

6. Lindy American Little League will hold its Family Fun Day on Sunday, , at on East Sunrise Highway. Admission is free for adults and $10 per child, which includes a t-shirt and entry to carnival games, crafts, inflatables, face-painting, balloon art, food and a Chinese auction. It’s sponsored by Astoria Federal Savings, and all proceeds benefit Tourette Syndrome Association of Long Island.

7. On Exotic Wines and Liquors will hold a wine tasting from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

8. In nearby West Babylon on Great East Neck Road, the continues through Sunday.
