This Weekend in Lindenhurst: May 14-15

Here’s what’s on tap:

1. The is set for Saturday at 8 a.m. at the . Proceeds to benefit Lindenhurst students. There’ll be a car raffle, food, music, baskets, displays and events. Rain date is Sunday.

2. The 10th annual Celebration of the Arts at the will showcase the fine and performing arts from all of the district’s schools. It runs 1 p.m to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

3. There will be a few happening Saturday. The Varsity Boys team will take on Northport at home , while the JV Boys Lacrosse team will also be away at Northport

4. There are several events happening at the Saturday: at 11:15 a.m. and at 2 p.m. Saturday. Details are on the LML website.

5. Suffolk County Film Commission's First Exposure program presents the Best of the Best High School student short films on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Cinema Arts Centre. Films by students were chosen from several high schools, including Lindenhurst. There’s free admission and open seating.

6. Lutheran Church will hold Opera Night in Lindenhurst Sunday at 4 p.m. Call 631-226-1274.

9. Stamp Out Hunger will take place Saturday. Place non-perishable foods in a bag and leave it at your mailbox. Your letter carrier will pick up and deliver to local food banks or pantries.

10. Cookies for Kids Cancer Bake Sales will take place Saturday at Atlantis Marine World from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
