95-Year-Old Lobster Caught for Island Park Restaurant
Don't worry. The 23-pound crustacean has been given a pardon from the platter at Jordan Lobster Farms.

An Island Park seafood restaurant and farm owner received a whale of a lobster from one of his fishermen this week.
Steve Jordan, owner of Jordan Lobster Farms, was shocked when he opened a crate from one of his fishermen and found the 23-pound lobster.
“It was awesome,” said Jordan, according to New York Daily News. “I looked into the crate and it was a 23-pound lobster. I thought this is the biggest lobster we’ve had in 15 years.”

John Price, one of the farm’s fishermen, caught the creature in the Bay of Fundy between Maine and Nova Scotia, according to WCBS.
“He shipped it in, he didn’t even tell us. He said ‘look in the crate.’ We opened it up and we were like ‘whoa!’ Jordan said, according to the report.

This particular lobster, which is estimated to be about 95 years old, was given a pardon from the platter. Jordan decided to donate it to the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead.
“It just wasn’t right, he’s lived this long,” Jordan said, according to NYDN. “They will take care of him.”
Customers agreed with Jordan’s decision.
“It’s more cool to watch it and look at it than eat it,” said Dennis Lynch, of Huntington, according to WCBS.
Visitors will be able to gawk at the lobster for the next few days until it can be safely transported to Riverhead.
“It’s kind of like a deer in headlights look,” Jordan said of the lobster’s fans, according to NYDN. “They keep saying ‘that’s the biggest lobster I ever saw.’”
