The weekend is around the corner, but what’s the rush to get there? You still have Friday to enjoy. Here’s what you should know before your work week comes to an end:

1. Why not sit back, relax and enjoy a movie today? Long Beach Cinema, at East Park Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard, will show the following flicks: Arthur (romantic comedy, PG-13) 8:20 p.m.; Fast Five (action, PG-13) 12:15, 3:15, 6:15, 9:15 p.m.; Hop (comedy, PG), 12:30, 3, 5 p.m.; Rio (comedy, G) 12, 2:30, 5, 7 p.m.; Water for Elephants (drama, PG-13), 12:10, 2:45, 5:45, 8:45 p.m.

2. Are you looking to shed some pounds? Swing into a new you this summer by taking kettlebell classes. Long Beach Fitness will offer an hour-long introductory class starting at 5 p.m. at their studio on East Park Avenue.

3. Due to yesterday’s rainout, Long Beach baseball has rescheduled its game against Mepham to 4:30 p.m. at LBHS. Also, the badminton team will host Syosset at 4:15 at the high school. Patch will have coverage of both teams in the coming days.

4. Liquor bottles will be flying when The Inn hosts a bartending championship finals starting at 7 p.m. Head to the bar, at the corner of West Beech Street and Tennessee Avenue, and check out John K. and Michelle take on Chris and Kate O. in this exciting competition.
