City Of Long Beach: Hurricane Ida Update

City crews are clearing storm drains to mitigate flooding and are removing loose trash receptacles from the boardwalk and City streets.

We continue to track the remnants of Hurricane Ida as our area remains under a Flash Flood Watch from now through tomorrow afternoon. 3-6 inches of rain are predicted along with gusts of between 20-40mph. An isolated tornado can not be ruled out. It is predicted the worst effects of the storm will pass through out area between 10pm tonight and 2am tomorrow morning.

High tides will take place at 4:25pm this evening and 5:11am tomorrow morning.

Residents are reminded to take in or secure any loose outdoor items. Residents in flood prone areas should prepare accordingly.
