City Streets Flood in Wake of Thunderstrom

Forcast calls for chance of heavy rain Saturday.

Long Beach streets were flooding after thunderstorms delivered torrential rains from about 5 to 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Among the flooded roads were the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and East Walnut Street in the President Streets section of the city.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 50 percent chance for heavy rain with small hail, gusty winds and frequent lightening before 2 a.m., and temperatures will be in the low 60s. Saturday calls for mostly sunny skies with about a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and heavy rain in the afternoon.
