O'Keefe Foundation scholarship awards dinner

The O'Keefe Foundation, -- a non-profit charitable organization founded in memory of firefighter Patrick O'Keefe of the FDNY's Rescue 1 and in honor of all those who were killed on September 11, 2001 --  sponsors annual college scholarships for high school seniors. The foundation announces two new scholarships for Long Beach Residents:

1)   The John C. McLaughlin, Sr. Textbook Assistance Grant for $2,000, sponsored by City Council member John McLaughlin, will be awarded this year to Virginia Sheehan, a graduate of Long Beach High School who will be attend the University of Miami this fall.

2)  The Staff Sergeant Raleigh Snell Textbook Assistance Grant for $2,000, sponsored by Jerry Snell, awarded this year to Kevin Spahr, a graduate of Chaminade High School who will attend Villanova University this fall.

The scholarship presentations will take place at the O'Keefe Foundation 9/11 Memorial Dinner at the Ocean Club in Atlantic Beach on Sept. 11. For information on the dinner, contact Noreen Costello at 516-662-0485 or check at the website at www.spiritrider.org.
