Feb. 8: School Board Meets, Tea Party Time, Basketball Teams Tip Off

1. Learn about the official business at Long Beach School District when the Board of Education holds a regular meeting at the Middle School at 7:30 p.m.

3. The Long Beach High School basketball teams see action this afternoon against Mepham. The boys’ team will host Mepham at 4:30 p.m., while the girls’ squad travels to Bellmore to tip off at the same time.

4. Long Beach radio personality Halftime Howie will host his show “Broadcasting on the Beach” from 8 to 9 p.m. on AM 1240 WGBB. His guests will included Johanna Mathieson-Ellmer from Artists in Partnership, Lewis Gelfand of All Creatures Veterinary Services, Joe Sinnona of Sinnona Realty, Doris the Florist of Creative Florist Designs and Shannon Romig of Relay for Life. Tom Gleason will give a snowboarding report and Ross Stanger a surfing report.

5. Political minded? Find out what the Long Beach Tea Party Patriots are up to when they hold a regular meeting at the Long Beach Library at 7:30 p.m.
