Forty-Six Long Beach Students to Perform at All-County Festival
Four other musicians chosen for LISFA String Festival.

A total of 46 Long Beach students in grades 4 through 12 qualified to perform in the New York State Music Association's All-County Festival the weekends of Jan. 8
and 15. They will join a select group of musicians from Nassau County for a gala concert series at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, featuring select band, chorus, orchestra, vocal jazz and jazz band performances. Hundreds of students auditioned for this honor at the NYSSMA Solo Evaluation Festivals held last spring. For a complete list of the All-County participants, visit www.lbeach.org/arts.
Four other Long Beach Public School students were chosen to participate in the Long Island String Festival Association's Annual String Festivals. Long Beach Middle School eighth grader Victoria Epstein and Long Beach High School freshman Mark DeGuzman and junior Alexandra Gruber performed at the LISFA Secondary Festival, held at Massapequa High School in November. Seventh grader Francine Nizhnik will be taking part in the LISFA Elementary/Middle School Festival in March. All were recognized as representing the highest quality string musicians at their grade level.
