Freeport Man Killed in Industrial Accident
The man was tragically killed by two falling slabs of quartzite in Farmingdale Wednesday afternoon, police said.

A Freeport man was tragically killed by falling slabs of rock in Farmingdale Wednesday afternoon, according to Suffolk County Police.
Hector Vicenty, 52, died after two 800-pound slabs of quartzite fell on top of him while he was working at European Granite and Marble Group, located at 3 Dubon Court, cops said.
Authorities rushed Vicenty to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

The Nassau County Medical Examiner’s office has not yet released an official cause of death.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration also responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
