Girls' Little League Softball Team Claims Championship

First Long Beach/Lido 10-and-under team to take District 30 Williamsport title in 10 years.

The Long Beach/Lido Little League Girls' 10-and-under Williamsport softball team are District 30 champs.

These local girls locked up their title in a thrilling 9-8 victory over Rockville Centre on July 9. In doing so, they are the first Long Beach/Lido team to claim a District 30 Williamsport championships in baseball or softball since 2005, and the first 10U girls’ team to win the tile since 2001.

The team is part of Little League Section 5, which includes districts in western Nassau County and New York City. They are coaches: Bruce Abramson, Tim Gola and Joe Razza, and the players; Maiya Abramson, Kasey Beggi, Sunnie DeFlorio, Fiona Eramo, Meredith Fagan, Nicole Grandietti, Emily Gola, Taylor Haines, Colleen Mannle, Sam Mowery, Jackie Muratori, Anna Rose Osnow, Christina Razza, and Paris Rubin.

The team has since moved on to sectional play, defeating an Ozone Park/Howard Beach team 23-10 at the Skelos Sports Complex in Rockville Centre on Wednesday, and is scheduled to play a Staten Island team on Saturday.
