Jan. 10: Internet Safety for Kids, Join the League of Women Voters.
Here's what's happening Monday in Long Beach.
Welcome to “Five Things You Need to Know Today,” a new feature on Long Beach Patch. Each day we’ll list five items of information that we think you should know. Here what’s happening today to kick off the second full week of the New Year:
1. It’s predicted that Monday’s daytime weather will be mostly sunny and brisk with temperatures in the low– to mid–30s. Enjoy the dry day before a potential snowstorm rolls in Tuesday evening.
2. So you have concerns about your children in our high-tech, multimedia world? Long Beach High School welcomes Jeremy Glicksman, Nassau County’s assistant district attorney, who will give a talk entitled "How to Talk to Your Kids About: Internet Safety, Cyber-Bullying, Internet Predators, ‘Sexting’ and Protecting Their Privacy." The talk starts at 7 p.m.
3. Learn more about our nation’s political process and how you can participate by attending a meeting of The League of Women Voters of Long Beach at 6:30 p.m. at Long Beach Library.
4. Kids can exercise their creative talents during an art class at Earth Arts starting at 4:30 p.m.
