Long Beach made it through another snowstorm, and just in case you’re asking yourself if it’s Friday yet, we’re here to tell you that it is. And here’s what you need to know about the goings-on in Long Beach today:
1. Why not take in a movie? Long Beach Cinema is showing: The Green Hornet (12:20, 3:15, 6:00, 8:45), The King’s Speech (12:00, 2:30, 5:30), The Delima (12:30, 3:00, 6:15, 9:00), The Rite (12:10, 2:45, 5:45, 8:30). For information, call the theater at (516) 431-4200.
2. The Long Beach High School boys’ swim team hosts Hewlett at 5 p.m. at LBHS. Why not turn out and cheer the squad on? Patch is planning to spotlight a swimmer, so return for this feature story.

3. If swimming is not your thing, then what about hoops? The LBHS boys’ basketball team will tip off against Great Neck South at 4:30 p.m. at the high school.
4. It’s toddler time at the Long Beach Library, when the young ones can enjoy about an hour of books, puzzle, songs and rhymes starting at 11 a.m.
