The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Our staff offers a wide range of social and employment services, including: • Development of a personalized self-sufficiency plan • Case management and referrals • Employment services, job search skills, and work experience opportunities • Outreach and community support • Social and cultural adjustment assistance • English language support • Help with school, benefits, and local resource navigation • Transitional services and employment retention support We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. The weekend has arrived and here is what you need to know: 1. A bilingual storytime in English and Spanish, including stories, songs and crafts, will kick off at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday at the Long Beach Library. 2. Catholic Schools' Week is the annual celebration of Catholic schools and their contributions to their communities and the nation. This celebration in Long Beach gets started on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the St. Ignatius Martyr Church. 3. Speical needs children can join the fun and friends bowling league at South Levittown Lanes starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday.  4. Long Beach Patch is looking to recruit more mothers for our Moms Council, in which parents get the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences on parenting-related issues, as well as provide local information on parenting activities and events. 5. Later on Patch, look out for our next Food for Thought column, and find out where the open houses in Long Beach will be on Sunday.
