Get the scoop on what's happening each weekday in Long Beach.

Tuesday brings sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s in Long Beach, as well as many meetings and activities. Here are just a few we think you should know about:
1. The Long Beach City Council will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall, and the Long Beach Board of Education will hold a meeting at 7:30 at Long Beach Middle School. The council's meeting is the first of the month and includes a "good and welfare" session that allows residents to address the city manager and council members about government-related issues.
2. Celebrate Shavuot at Temple Emanu-El on Neptune Boulevard starting at 6 p.m. Anyone is welcome to enjoy a short service, full dinner and special Shavuot dessert: cheesecake.
