LBHS Senior Named Nassau Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Jordan Ochs' excellence both in the classroom and on the field earns him top recognition.

Jordan Ochs, a senior at Long Beach High School, was named Nassau County High School Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The Nassau County Soccer Coaches Association gives this award in recognition of a Nassau County soccer player who has achieved both academic and athletic excellence. To qualify for this award, the player must be a varsity starter in his or her senior year, maintain a 90 percent or better cumulative average, and complete an essay explaining what it means to be a scholar-athlete.
Ochs, who is co-captain of the varsity soccer team and a three-year starting goalie, was a 2010 All-Conference Soccer player. He was named both the Long Beach Class of 2011 Valedictorian, with a GPA of 103.27, and an AP Scholar with Distinction, and he received the University of Rochester Bausch and Lomb Award for Excellence in science and the Rensselaer Science Medal. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Foreign Language Honor Society.
