LI Synagogue To Hold Special Service For 1 Yr. Since Attack On Israel
Temple Emanu-El of Long Beach will host an interfaith community program on Oct. 7.

LONG BEACH, NY — One Nassau synagogue is planning a special service to mark one year since Hamas launched multiple attacks on Israel.
"Not Forgotten, A Prayer Service in Remembrance of the October 7th Hostages"
The event at Temple Emanu-El of Long Beach is an interfaith community program with prayers from all denominations of local clergy, keynote speakers and statements from elected officials.

Six hostages were found murdered in a Gaza tunnel last month. The Oct. 7 massacre left 1,200 people dead and more than 250 people kidnapped, the AJC reported.
There are more than 60 living hostages in Gaza, according to The New York Times.

The names of the hostages will be read during the Temple-Emanu-El service.
"[We] encourage everyone to come to support the hostages," a spokesperson for the synagogue said.
