LONG BEACH, NY — Work is scheduled to begin next week on Long Beach's commuter parking garage, which will change where drivers need to park until the summer.

According to the city, the Department of Public Works will be replacing the garage's fire sprinkler system, repairing concrete surfaces, redoing joint sealing, repairing the brick facade, surface sealing and striping and underpinning the slab.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 5. The garage will be closed while the work is ongoing, and is currently scheduled to reopen on Friday, June 25.
