The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. A Long Beach man was arrested in Island Park Monday morning and charged with possessing more than a pound of marijuana. According to Nassau County Police, Michael Lawry, 19, of Minnesota Avenue, was driving his 2002 Dodge erratically on Long Beach Road and police officers pulled him over at about 12:27 a.m. on Feb. 28. The officers found a bag with marijuana on the floor of his car, and on further investigation found that Lawry had a total of 10 bags containing more than 16 ounces of the drug. Lawry was arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana and failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and failing. He will be arraigned at the First District Court in Hempstead today.
