Long Beach Man Charged with Pot Possession
Police say they found more than a pound of marijuana in his car after pulling him over for driving erratically.

A Long Beach man was arrested in Island Park Monday morning and charged with possessing more than a pound of marijuana.
According to Nassau County Police, Michael Lawry, 19, of Minnesota Avenue, was driving his 2002 Dodge erratically on Long Beach Road and police officers pulled him over at about 12:27 a.m. on Feb. 28. The officers found a bag with marijuana on the floor of his car, and on further investigation found that Lawry had a total of 10 bags containing more than 16 ounces of the drug.
Lawry was arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana and failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and failing. He will be arraigned at the First District Court in Hempstead today.
