Long Beach Trio Charged with Assault
Arrested after two men were stabbed during a dispute in Island Park.
Three Long Beach men were charged with assault after two men were stabbed during a dispute in Island Park on Wednesday night.
According to Nassau County Police Department, Elmer Otero, 19, Marcelo Gomez-Mello, 27, and Jorge Perdomo, 22, approached two men, ages 33 and 34, about a money-related issue inside Lacosta Del Sol Bar, at 4547 Austin Blvd., at about 10:18 on Feb. 2.
The men took their dispute outside to the front parking lot were Otero, Gomez-Mello and Perdomo assaulted the two men, police said. The 33-year-old victim was stabbed in the back, and the 34-year-old victim suffered stab wounds to his right arm and left hand. Both men were transported to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside for treatment. No weapon was recovered.

Otero, Gomez-Mello and Perdomo were arrested and charged with second-degree assault and arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
