Long Island Power Outages From Henri Could Last 2 Weeks: PSEG
The utility company expects the East End to see the brunt of the storm and be the worst area for potential loss of electricity on Sunday.
UNIONDALE, NY — While residents make their final preparations ahead of Hurricane Henri's expected landfall Sunday, PSEG Long Island is warning about outages.
Given the latest track and forecast for Henri, PSEG says the East End could be poised to see the most severe weather and impact.
The utility company says the storm's intensity could lead to power outages lasting between seven and 10 days, "However, if the forecast continues to strengthen and the storm moves farther west, restoration could take up to 14 days," Michael Sullivan, senior director of transmission & distribution at PSEG, said in a statement Saturday afternoon.

“We are prepared for hurricane-force winds and are informing customers to help set expectations about the storm’s potential so that they can also prepare," Sullivan said.
PSEG is using more than 3,300 line workers, tree trimmers and other personnel with the goal of keeping outages to a minimum.
