March 3: Art and Coffee, Parents-Principal Roundtable, Cabaret Registration

Get the scoop on what's happening in Long Beach each weekday.

Rise and shine, Long Beach. Here are five things you should know before starting your Thursday:

1. The art of Sang Yung Chung and Yuna Cho is on display at the Coffee Nut Cafe on East Park Avenue until March 15. Chung depicts animals through the use of Asian watercolors, while Cho works with a mix of powders, paints and other pigments.

2. Long Beach Middle School will hold a roundtable for parents and the principal at 7 p.m., allowing parents to address the principal with their questions or concerns, as well as meet fellow parents and learn more about LBMS.

3. The Long Beach Catholic Regional School will hold their parents club meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the school. Grades two and three will host the event.

4. The Friedberg JCC of Oceanside will take a trip to Mill Pond House on the Long Island Sound on Mar. 24 to enjoy a three-course lunch and Cabaret, a musical centered on the seedy Kit Kat Klub in 1931. Registration starts today for this trip that costs $141.

5. Later today on Long Beach Patch: the View Finder photo gallery will feature homes that demonstrate diverse architectural styles, the Get Out weekend planner lists a variety of area events and activities, and House Hunt column lets you know where the open houses are this weekend.
