March 8: School Board Meeting and Mardi Gras and PJ Parties

Whether there’s an important school board meeting, a fundraiser coming, or you need to catch up on stories you missed, we’ll make sure you stay informed about what’s shaping your city. Here are the top five things you need to know for Tuesday:

1. Long Beach School District will unveil its 2011-12 budget at the Board of Education meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. at Long Beach Middle School. The pending capital project at the Lido Complex is also on the agenda.

2. As Mardi Gras comes to a close the Saint James of Jerusalem Episcopal Church on West Penn Street will host a Mardi Gras family party at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

3. East Elementary School will host a pajama party for students in kindergarten through second grade from 6:30 pm. to 7:30 p.m.

4. Adult education classes give local residents a chance to take an affordable class on a subject they are interested in learning about. Long Beach School District will hold registration for adult education classes at Long Beach Middle School from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
