May 11: Lovrich Fundraiser, Farmer’s Market Returns, American Cancer Society Meets
Get the scoop on what's happening each weekday in Long Beach.

1. A fundraiser event for Corey Lovrich, a Long Beach High School alumni, will be held when the boys’ lacrosse team hosts Syosset at 7 p.m. at the middle school. The 20-year-old student and lacrosse player at Jacksonville University was diagnosed with stage-three colon cancer. The Lovrich family will sell wristbands and t-shirts at the game to raise money for his medical treatment.
2. The Farmer’s Market has returned to Kennedy Plaza and will be open every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
3. The American Cancer Society will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Long Beach Library and on Saturday will hold its Relay for Life at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the middle school.
4. Today’s is city-wide recycling, so put your newspapers, cans and plastics curbside.
5. Later today on Patch, we'll post a video of residents at last night's school board meeting who talk about their top concerns with the board elections and budget vote a week away.
