Get the scoop on what's happening each weekday in Long Beach.

Patch gives Long Beach readers five things they need to know each weekday morning, with events and activities ranging from sports to the arts to religion. We’ll also inform you of upcoming stories or those you may have missed. Here’s what’s happening in the busy beach town Tuesday:
1. The Long Beach School District budget vote and trustee elections are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. For polling locations, click here. The results will be announced at a special Board of Education meeting after 10 p.m. at the Middle School.
2. The Long Beach City Council will hold a meeting and budget hearing at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
3. Long Beach Catholic Regional School on West Broadway will hold an executive board meeting at 1 p.m.
4. Fourth and Fifth Grade Booksnackers is a book discussion group for children in those grades and will focus on Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson. The discussion gets started at 5 p.m. at the Long Beach Public Library.
