May 2: Waterfront Warriors Fundraiser, Pre-Prom Meeting, Girls’ Lacrosse

If you were asleep last night and hadn’t heard the news, Osama Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan in a reported firefight with U.S. forces. We know, that's big news and you can eventually visit countless news sites to read about it. But only on Patch will you find out about the events and latest news going on in Long Beach. So before you go (and, of course, return later), find out what's happening in the city on this first Monday in May:

1. The Long Beach Waterfront Warriors will hold their third annual fundraiser in the city from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lola’s restaurant on West Park Avenue. This event assists in raising money to bring soldiers and their families to Long Beach for a vacation from July 23 to 28.

2. The Long Beach High School will hold a mandatory pre-prom meeting for students who plan to attend the prom in June. The meeting will start at 7:15 p.m. at the high school.

3. What happened to the Long Beach Cinema 4 movie theater? Did it close last week? Is it gone for good, or just undergoing renovations? Later today, Patch will post a story that we hope can provide some answers.
