May 9: Candidates Forum, Beach Passes On Sale, Civil Service Commission Meets

1. The three individuals running in the election for the Long Beach Board of Education, incumbents Dr. Dennis Ryan and Patrick Gallagher, and challenger Ari Pine, will participate in a candidates forum and answer residents’ questions starting at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

2. Beach-lovers, listen up! Beach passes go on sale starting at 9 a.m. at the gazebo on the bay at Magnolia Boulevard.

3. The Long Beach Civil Service Commission will hold an open meeting starting at 5 p.m. on the sixth floor at City Hall.

4. Long Beach High School parents and the principal meet for a roundtable discussion starting at 8 a.m. at the school. This meeting gives parents an opportunity to discuss issues about the school.

A video of challenger Ari Pine was posted last Friday, and we’ll post a video of Patrick Gallagher, the other incumbent in the race, on Tuesday.
