No Mega Millions Winner; Friday's Jackpot Tops $1 Billion

It would be the fourth largest grand prize in the multi-state lottery's history.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Someone from Long Island could win the next Mega Millions, now worth more than $1 billion.

The multi-state lottery has gone 29 times without a winner, causing the jackpot to roll over into historic territory.

At $1.02 billion, Friday night's drawing would be the 4th largest Mega Millions payout. That amount is for players who chose the annuity option for 30 years.

For the cash pay-out, it's "only" $602.5 million.

All amounts from the New York State Lottery are estimated and could rise even higher based on ticket sales.
