Photo of the Day: East Park Ave. Narrows to Single Lane

Verizon workers dug a hole on the eastbound side of East Park Avenue, between Long Beach and Riverside boulevards, narrowing the three-lane thoroughfare to a single lane Wednesday. According to the City of Long Beach, Verizon contacted the city for an emergency dig. "They had reports of line outages and identified the problem as coming from that location," a city public relations person said. Patch got caught up in the light traffic that formed there at mid-day and decided to take a snapshot of the scene for today’s Photo of the Day.
