Photos: When The 12:42 Train Arrives in Long Beach

A look at beach-goers trek from the LIRR platform to Edwards Boulevard Beach on Sunday.

Long Beach was blessed with sunny skies and temps that climbed to 85 degrees and 51 percent humidity on Sunday. That means the city saw a lot of beach traffic yesterday, which was clearly evident after the 12:42 p.m. train pulled into the railroad station. Beach-goers in droves poured out of Long Island Rail Road cars on to the streets, where they were met by bumper-to-bumper traffic. Just another summer day in Long Beach, and Patch photographers were there to capture the scenes for this week’s Viewfinder gallery of photos.

The weather forcast for Long Beach this week shows temperatures in the low- to mid-80s with a 20 percent chance of rain throughout the week.
