The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. A 29-year-old man suffering from schizophrenia who was last seen in Woodmere is now missing, according to Nassau County Police. Steven Montalvo, an Island Park resident, was last seen at 145 Irving Pl. on Sunday at 10:39 p.m., according to a Silver Alert issued sent out at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday. Police believe he was possibly headed to Harvest for the World, a soup kitchen on Prospect Avenue in Roosevelt. Police said Montalvo has brown hair and brown eyes and was wearing glasses, but they didn't have a clothing description, nor are his means of travel known. A Silver Alert is issued when a senior citizen or individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders go missing.
