Question of the Day: Fireworks Show Pros and Cons?

Weigh in with your toughts on this topic.

Colorful pyrotechnics will light up the Long Beach night sky this evening when the City of Long Beach holds its annual fireworks extravaganza on the beach.

This annual event draws large crowds to the city, with cars filling up the surrounding streets, sometimes as far away as neighborhoods near the Michael Valenti Memorial Long Beach Bridge. The city provides a bus service for spectators to help alleviate the traffic congestion. Others enjoy the opportunity to walk with their families from their homes, strolling the city streets and boardwalk on their way to enjoy a night of fireworks and fun on the beach.

While some businesses may find the event is a boon, certain residents may call it just a headache that deprives them of a nearby parking spot, and other may say it’s a relatively brief but exciting event that's worth the temporary inconvenience it may mean for them and others.
