The Long Beach School District asks residents to vote on its proposed 2011-12 budget, a $118.6 million spending plan that represents a 1.8 percent hike, or $2.1 million increase from the current budget. This proposal also represents a 0 percent increase to the tax levy, the amount of money raised by taxes.
