Readying For First Snowfall Of Season On Long Island

Long Beach reminds residents that plows will start clearing snow when there are two inches.

LONG BEACH, NY — With the potential for a few inches of snow Thursday night into Friday, Long Beach officials are reminding residents to get into the winter weather mindset.

The city posted about snow emergency procedures on its website.

Snow removal vehicles and salt/sand spreaders will be on the roads when the snow starts to stick, the city wrote.

Plowing will begin when 2 inches of snow has accumulated.

While this storm isn't forecast to deliver a major blow to Long Beach, the first snowfall of the season could bring enough of a nuisance with 2-5 inches by midday Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
