Scenes in the City on America's 235th Birthday
A photo gallery of people and places in Long Beach.
Long Beach was abuzz during the three-day holiday weekend with locals and out-of-towners celebrating their independence in one way or another. Some city residents read the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution in their entirety on the boardwalk, while others lined its guardrail with American flags, as the majority of beach-goers just enjoyed the sun and sand, whether playing volleyball or beach tennis or just soaking up the rays (Okay, Sunday was a wash out).
Long Beach in the summer offers a variety of people and places that we aim to capture for our weekly (sometimes twice-weekly) Viewfinder photo gallery. If you have photos of city scenes that you would like us to consider for our Viewfinder gallery, please email them — along with descriptive captions — to josephk@patch.com. Photos must be sent with the photographer's permission.
