'Seinfeld's Bania Steve Hytner To Perform In Long Beach
Hytner will also participate in the Borrelli's Tap Room's "Seinfeld" Trivia.

LONG BEACH, NY — Fans of "Seinfeld" will want to circle Wednesday, Aug. 27, on their calendars. Steve Hytner will perform stand-up at Borrelli's Tap Room in Long Beach.
Hytner, who played hack comic Kenny Bania on the sitcom, will also participate in "Seinfeld" Trivia, but not as emcee.
"I don't really have an interest or those abilities," Hytner told Patch. "Someone else will be running the trivia, and I'll be making jokes and comments during that part."

Hytner, who grew up in Valley Stream, was a comedy club fixture in the mid-1980s. However, Hollywood came-a-calling and his stand-up career paused for 25 years.
While he touches on his fame from "Seinfeld," after "30-40 minutes of strong, solid stand-up," Hytner doesn't dwell on that portion of his professional life, which could make the trivia experiment somewhat awkward for him.

"It's new. I don't know how that'll do and I don't know how I'll feel about it," he said. "I don't know if I want to, all of a sudden, be known as somebody who does 'Seinfeld' trivia."
This is the first time Hytner will be involved in a "Seinfeld" trivia event, although years ago, Hytner recalled stumbling into one at a Vancouver hotel where he was staying.
"I'm sitting at the bar, and the guy sitting next to me has said nothing to me," Hytner said. "All of a sudden, he leans over and he goes, 'You going to help me out, or not.'"
Despite being a part of the pop culture zeitgeist with his famous lines such as "That's gold, Jerry!" and "Soup's not a meal," Hytner admits to not having knowledge and memory of "Seinfeld" minutiae.
In May, Hytner appeared to a sold-out crowd at Governor's Comedy Club. His comedy clicked instantly with the audience, but he did not talk about his Long Island roots.
"So I might do a little bit more of that," he said.
Borrelli's Tap Room is located at 912 West Beech Street.
