Walgreens Employee Charged with Stealing Prescription Pills
Police said he stole more than 1,000 pills that included hydrocodone and oxycodone.

Samuel White, 43, of Rosedale was arrested and charged with stealing a large quantity of prescription pills from Walgreens in Long Beach.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, White was employed as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens, at 606 Long Beach Blvd., and stole more than 1,000 pills that included hydrocodone and oxycodone.
"The street value of this quantity of pills is approximately twenty thousand dollars,” said Sgt. Richard DePalma.

The LBPD's detective division launched an investigation approximately four months ago after developing information that a large quantity of a controlled substance narcotic was being stolen from Walgreens.
White was charged with the Larceny and arraigned at the Long Beach City Court on Jan. 20.
