Yankees, Jets Alums to Join Pat Cairo Fundraiser

Legendary New York athletes will join together during a fundraiser to fight cancer Tuesday in Lido Beach.

The 19th Annual Pat Cairo Family Foundation Golf Outing, to be held at Lido Beach Golf Course, will welcome New York Yankee and New York Jets legends Mark Gastineau, Cecil Fielder, and Wesley Walker.

Shotgun tee offs will be held at 6:45 a.m. and 12 p.m. The Jets and Yankees alums will appear during the 12 p.m. event. A cocktail party and dinner will follow the outing at Sands Beach Club in Lido Beach.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Calvary Hospital to help terminally ill patients and research efforts into women’s cancer.

The Pat Cairo Family Foundation was established in 1995 to help patients and their families as they battle cancer. In the past 20 years, the foundation has donated more than $3,500,000 to those struggling with cancer, which strikes Long Islanders at one of the highest rates in the country.
